Terms of Service (insquare)

These Terms govern use of the private photo app insquare (the "Service") operated by John.k (the "Operator").

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the Operator and users in connection with the Service.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. "Service" means the insquare mobile application, where you create a room, invite people with a code or QR, and share this hour’s photos.
  2. "Operator" means John.k, who develops and operates the Service.
  3. "User" means a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
  4. "Room" means a private space that can be joined only with an invite code or QR code. There is no public feed or search. A room follows the in-app member cap (currently four people).
  5. "Content" means photos, captions, comments, profile information, and other materials users upload.

Article 3 (The Service)

The Operator provides the following. Exact limits follow in-app notices:

  1. Sign-in with Google, Apple, or Kakao
  2. Creating rooms and inviting people with an invite code or QR
  3. Sharing one photo for the current hour with room members, and viewing past posts in the room
  4. Comments and push notifications
  5. Leaving a room, or the owner deleting the room
  6. Ads that may appear at the bottom of the room list for free use

Features and limits may change. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page.

Article 4 (Accounts)

  1. The Service is for users 13 years of age or older. Users under 13 may not register or use it.
  2. The Service does not create a separate ID or password. Sign-in is Google, Apple, or Kakao only.
  3. An account may stay signed in on only one device at a time. Signing in on another device ends the previous session.
  4. Users may sign out or delete their account in the profile menu. Account deletion removes the account and the user’s posts, comments, and photo files.

Article 5 (Content rights)

  1. Users retain copyright in Content they upload.
  2. The Operator processes Content only as needed to provide the Service (storage, delivery, display, security, deletion).
  3. The Operator does not use Content for advertising, marketing, or machine learning without the user’s consent.

Article 6 (User obligations)

Users must not:

  1. Upload Content that infringes others’ portrait rights, copyrights, or personal information
  2. Post obscene, violent, hateful, or defamatory Content, or Content that violates law or public morals
  3. Create, possess, or distribute child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) or child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  4. Abuse the Service, scrape data, or interfere with other users
  5. Publish invite codes to the public so a room becomes effectively open
  6. Impersonate the Operator or spread false information

The Operator may delete Content and suspend accounts. Suspected crimes may be reported to law enforcement.

Liability arising from Content rests with the user who uploaded it. If a member saves, captures, or shares Content outside the Service, that member is responsible for that act.

Article 7 (Prohibition of CSAE)

insquare does not allow users under 13 and prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

If such Content is found, it is deleted, the account is suspended, and it is reported to law enforcement in the Republic of Korea (including the National Police Agency) as required by law.

Article 8 (Reports and contact)

Users may report illegal or harmful Content, or account issues, via:

The Operator reviews reports and may delete Content, restrict accounts, or notify authorities. Child-safety reports are handled first.

Users who no longer want to stay in a room may leave it. The owner may delete the room.

Article 9 (Advertising)

During free use, Google ads may appear at the bottom of the room list. Advertisers are responsible for their ads and linked services.

Article 10 (Disclaimer)

  1. The Operator is not liable for interruptions caused by events reasonably beyond control, including natural disasters, network failures, or third-party infrastructure outages.
  2. Except for willful misconduct or gross negligence, the Operator is not liable for disputes among users or for Content a user shares outside the Service.
  3. The Service is operated by an individual. To the extent permitted by law, damages are limited to amounts the user paid the Operator (zero if none).

Article 11 (Changes)

If these Terms change, the revision date will be posted on this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

Article 12 (Governing law)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be resolved in courts with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.

These Terms take effect on August 22, 2026.
